Clarke Successor Watch

I've posted twice already on the matter of General Wayne Downing, here and here; and just yesterday, on some of the questions raised by the use of private military contractors in Iraq. So, imagine my surprise when I discovered this bit, near the bottom of A9, in this morning's New York Times:

Gen. Wayne Downing, a retired chief of the United States Special Operations Command, said that on a recent trip to Baghdad he ran into several former Delta Force and Seal Team Six senior noncomissioned officers who were working for private companies.

"It was like a reunion," General Downing said.

Nice to know these guys are all buds.
